Labrador Retriever Obedience Training
Once you become the proud owner of Labrador, you may begin wondering how you can train him to be obedient and to listen to your commands. Training a Lab can be a rewarding process that will make being a dog owner much easier!
The first step to training your dog in any task, is to form a close relationship with him. He needs to know that you are his master and that you love him. The bond between a dog and his owner is unbreakable once it is formed correctly! Once you have achieved a close bond with your pet, you can begin training him.
It is best to start with very simple commands. The younger your dog is, the harder it will be to train him. It is best to start when the dog is a couple of months old so that he is at the age where he can understand the basics of training. Work with your dog on one small task at a time. Give him time to master that skill before you introduce others. If you try to introduce a couple of commands at the same time, he will not be able to learn them!
It is not difficult to train your dog if you take it a step-at-a-time. Work with your dog. Reward him with attention and treats when he does well. Do not punish him if he makes mistakes! Your dog will quickly begin to master skills that will make you a happy dog owner!
